This lively German American summer celebration offers a vibrant mix of authentic music, dance, food, and cultural experiences.
One of the most beloved daily traditions is the Little Leg Races, where hundreds of Dachshunds and Corgis dash for glory in daily 55-yard sprints, delighting crowds and earning their place as a hallmark of the festival. Alongside the canine competition, guests can enjoy 12+ German and American bands including award winning musician and producer Alex Meixner, ethnic dance groups, delicious German food and drinks, imported clothing and gifts, stein hoisting contests, Bingo, a carnival, shopping, and a Kinder (Kid) Zone packed with activities for the whole family.
While Das Fest celebrates America’s German ancestry, you don’t have to be German to appreciate the traditions at Das Fest. This is a weekend where families and friends come to enjoy great food, music, and camaraderie in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
The festival is powered by volunteers and has raised thousands of dollars for local charities over the years, further strengthening community spirit.
Admission is $5 for ages 16+, with free parking available. Groups are welcome! For questions or special requests, email dasfestwi@gmail.com.
