Description
Local author and painter hold “Ghost Stories: Yours and Ours” at Ethereal Confections on Halloween. Rich Rostron, a local author who does his writing in the Confectionery and coffeeshop, and Rodney ‘Pags’ Paglialong, owner of Woodstock-based Wall-Pro Painting Services, will share their ghost stories while inviting others to share theirs, too.
The event will begin at 5 p.m., just after the Trick-or-Treating ends, on the backside of the fireplace in Ethereal Confections, 140 Cass Street.
Those who attend can sign up for a chance to win prizes from gift cards, chocolates and more.
“We’ll also have small Halloween treats for children who come by,” said Rostron. “Of course, that means any ghost stories will be ‘age appropriate.’”
Rostron is currently working on his next novel for teens tentatively titled, “The Ghost of Lexington and Concord.”
“Three middle-school students meet a ghost from the American Revolution while on a fieldtrip,” said Rostron. “Of course, there’s more to the story than that,” he added with a smile.
Rostron’s last novel was “The Burning Sea of Iron Bottom Bay,” which is available at Little Bow Peeps Shop, Read Between the Lynes and MD Trains on The Square. It’s also available in McHenry at Kim & Patty’s Café in McHenry and online at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and other online bookstores.
Wall-Pro Painting Services has provided quality interior and exterior painting services for homeowners and businesses in Woodstock and the surrounding areas since 2004. Numerous homes around town wear paint jobs from Wall-Pro.
Pag’s ghostly experience includes blessing homes so that any trapped spirits can move on. Between that and experiences while painting homes, he has witnessed several unexplainable events.
He said he is inviting others who will share their experiences as well as teaching people how to bless their homes themselves.
Rostron said he has a few potential ghost stories that defy explanation.
The “Ghost Stores: Yours and Ours” event will run from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Halloween.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own ‘Ghost Stories.’
