Have you ever thought of what part of yourself you meet the world with? In yogic philosophy we hear a lot about this deeper core self. In fact Yoga means to come into union. It is precisely this part of ourselves that we are attempting to meet in the study of asana(posture), pranyama(breath) and meditation(bliss). These practices help us to clear up the impurities that may block us from seeing our original light.
This course is an experiment in making contact with the original self and then meeting the world with that part of our psyche/spirit. We will have a brief warm up with traditional Yoga techniques. And then trying to maintain our deeper awareness, we will play with Thai/Shiatsu inspired massage techniques that focus on breath awareness of giver and receiver. Without trying to fix heal or change the other, we will learn to bear witness. It is often through the compassionate presence of another we recognize our self and then our own natural healing processes can begin. From indweller to indweller, from giver to receiver, we realize we are one and the same at the core.
This course is designed for yogis, yoga students, massage therapists, teachers and all curious seekers. Come with a friend or a partner or just with an open mind to meeting yourself in a stranger.
Rich brings over 25 year as a Massage Therapist/Educator and Yoga Therapist/Educator. During this class, you will experience learn how to apply simple effective techniques to enhance your personal/professional practice. This training is designed for anyone who wants to increase their knowledge and confidence in hands-on assists, while offering their students the very best experience on the mat.
